Moving your Gammill or Statler Longarm Quilting Machine

Today I am going to address a common question that I receive – how should a person go about moving their Gammill from it’s current location?  Can I do it myself, do I need to hire my Gammill dealer to do it, or can I just leave it to the Moving Company?

From my perspective, I want to give you the most information so that you can make the choice that is right for you.  Moving machines takes a lot of time – time that we could spend setting up a NEW machine, or providing maintenance and upgrade services, and so we as a dealership only want to provide the moving service itself if our customer is unable or unwilling to do the move themselves.

As a start, please read this article I am linking to HERE. (Article link opens in a new tab, it’s a external website)

After familiarizing yourself with the process, you might feel comfortable doing the move yourself.  It is a good idea to schedule a “service call” with us for shortly after the machine arrives in it’s new home, so that we can correct any issues that may have arisen due to the move.  IF YOU DEPEND ON INCOME FROM YOUR MACHINE it may be more desirable to have us handle the move for you.  We can do it in our truck, or in yours.  We will need a 15 foot or longer box truck with loading ramp.  Rates vary depending on locations and timing flexibility, but generally moves are from $500 to $1700.

If you decide you would like to have us move the machine, please register for service call at THIS PAGE and in the comments, tell us what needs to happen and what your timeline is.

Thank you for reading!  We are really committed to making sure you can continue quilting with a minimum of interruptions and inconvenience.  Above all, your machine needs to be working properly in it’s new home, and we are here to help you in that.
